Happy Birthday Rufus!

Rufus is 2 today and to celebrate we are having a birthday party for him tonight with all the fam! I know... we must be crazy but when you don't have kiddos running around to celebrate thier birthdays, I guess the dog becomes the best replacement :)
We started off the day just right by going to Starbucks so Rufus could get his puppy cappuccino and then after he engulfed his wonderful snack, it was off to bed to take a nap with Justin. The two of them are sleeping away while I get to clean the house, organize my craft room, do a little bit of shopping for Rufus's birthday, etc. But I wouldn't have it any other way!
Tonight we are not only going to have a little birthday party for Rufus but we are putting up the Christmas decorations! Ahhhh, I couldn't ask for a better day! So I promise to take lots of pics at Rufus's "Birthday Party" tonight so everyone can see how absolute crazy we actually are :)
Happy Birthday Gufus! You are truly a blessing to both of us (that is when you are not costing us money at the vet).

Great Friends are Truly a Gift!

So this last month or so has been a very stressful, crazy, roller coaster ride and sometimes you just get completely worn out. Well I think that is what happened this last week... I was worn out and cranky. OK, I was very cranky and therefore, I was being a bah humbug. So after taking off work on Tuesday to just relax and try to get out of the blah mood... I get a phone call from my dear friend Mandy who told me no if.,and's, or buts that she was picking me up Wednesday afternoon to go shopping with her, Morgandy and Merritt! I couldn't say no even though I knew I had a TON of stuff to do around the house. So Wednesday afternoon after I worked that morning, I get the best sup rise ever.... Mandy and Morgandy showing up at my door wearing Santa hats with Starbucks caramel apple spice and pumpkin bread in hand! All I could do was cry when I saw them... they knew just what to do to bump me out of the bah humbug mood and get me into the Christmas spirit! I couldn't have asked for a better friend!
So we spent the day at the mall trying to finish/start Christmas shopping and it was so much fun! Even though shopping is not quite like what it used to be when there was just Mandy and I going on 10 hour shopping sprees to find the perfect outfit to wear that night.. it is still a great time! Now we have an almost teenager that is becoming extremely picky about clothes, etc. and then a little 5 month old who I guess we have to say is "High Maintenance". :) But you know, I don't think I would change it back to the way it was because it was such a blessing to spend the day with three best girls ever!
And to just ensure everyone.. I am officially in the Holiday Spirit and ready to put up Christmas decorations, start my annual Christmas baking, wrap packages, fight crowds in stores to find the perfect gift for everyone, etc. But mostly, I am just excited to enjoy the Holiday Season and be thankful for everything and everyone! Oh yeah and to watch all the ridiculously childish Christmas movies that Justin makes fun of me for watching :)
Mandy - Thank you for helping me realize that I can only pout for just a little bit, then I need to get over it or should I say "Suck it up Buttercup"!

Christmas Time is Here!

Here are a couple more onesies/shirts that I finshed this last week/weekend!

Shirts for two sisters.... I think they will look precious in these!

Personalized Christmas shirt for a friends little girl, Shaylee. I think this turned out adorable! Great idea Cami with the initial and the red, green and leopard :)

Princess Crown onesie for my aunt to take to a baby shower!

And finally..

Oklahoma City Fire Department onesie for a fireman's little girl! Addie found my blog through Kelly's Korner and emailed me about making the fire hydrant onesie for her little girl. Come to find out through emails.. she lives about 10 miles from me and both of our men are on the Oklahoma City Fire Department and get this... I went to high school with her husband. And even better, when she told her sister about my blog, her sister had actually already heard of it because she is good friends with my cousin in Stillwater. WOW.. it is such a small world sometimes! So since Addie is so close to me, I actually got to meet her when I gave her the onesie and she and her little girl are just precious. It is always so nice to meet another fireman's wife.. they know exactly what you are going through :)

Little Boys

I have realized (after someone so kindly brought it to my attention) that I am excluding little boys in all the fun Christmas shirts that I am making. So I decided to do some Naughty/Nice shirts, Elf shirts and then of course some I love Santa Shirts. Hopefully these will be something that are tailored more to the awesome little boys out there! If anyone else has any fun boy shirt ideas for Christmas, please let me know! I am always open for suggestions!

Hope everyone has a great monday!

P.S I just to post this picture again because I think it is adorable!

Yes, Jen.. I am showing off your daughter but you can tell travis I am showing off his photography skills :)

Care Cards, Hang tags, Address labels, OH MY!

I guess I never realized how much it takes to get a small business up and running :) I mean I crunch numbers for a living and give people heart attacks when I surprise them with an audit. I know nothing about they perfect way to display shirts, how to tag items, everything you will need for craft shows, how to ship your items in a fun cool package.. yep, I know nothing about all these business related things! However, I am trying to learn as much as I can and as fast as I can. I just realized the other day that you know.. it would be nice to have the price of the shirts/pants/bows, etc. attached to each item ( I am sure customers would appreciate this at shows ) so I just ordered my hang tags that will be cute and list the price. Then I thought.. how do I tell people the best way to wash the products.. so I now have ordered some care cards with washing instructions and other fun information. OH wait.. when I am shipping I learned that I probably should have a cute way to present the item so I now have cute stickers and address labels being made. Wow.. just thinking about all that I have done and still HAVE to do makes me exhausted.
Needless to say, all this has been a fun and exciting journey and I am still loving every minute of it.. even when I am up till 2:30 in the morning making bows (which I was last night). I really do enjoy being able to create something for someone that is unique and special! Now if only I could find a way to quit my day job :)
Pay it Forward ..Charities, Churches and other Organizations
OH and the most important part of this post... since I have been so blessed to have been able to create this little side business, I am very interested in trying to get connected with local charities/organizations that are in needed of bows, onesies, etc. I would love to donate some of my items and time for a great cause! So if anyone knows of any organizations, churches, etc. that might be interested.. PLEASE let me know! This is something that I would love to do during the Holiday Season and then continue on year round!
Happy Holidays!!

Kellys Korner - Show us your Pet

So this week at Kelly's Korner it is "Show us your Pet" ! I am super excited about this week because I adore our little Rufus! OK - so he may not be little anymore due to all the food we are feeding him :) Anyway, Rufus officially runs our house and is probably the most spoiled dog ever! I mean what other dog whines at night until he is allowed to get on the bed and is then covered up with his blanket! Yes, we have created a monster but at least he is an adorable one! Hope you enjoy a few pics of Mutt!

Rufus when we picked him out at the breeders!

I surprised Justin and went to Bartlesville and got Rufus without him knowing for his birthday surprise! How precious is he with his little red bow waiting for Justin!

After Justin got off work at the Fire station.. he found his new little puppy waiting for him! I think he was smitten by him from the beginning!

This is usually how I would find the two of them when Justin would get home from training!

Rufus doing what he does best.. getting into things! Yep, he got caught!

If anyone knows us really well, they know that for awhile Rufus was CONSTANTLY at the vets for some sort of emergency! Lets see...
  1. He fell out of the truck window going 40 mph (This was a lesson learned and now all windows are rolled up!)
  2. He sliced his knee open on a piece of metal a mama me's (This is what we call my mom)
  3. He got the mange
  4. He has dog acne
  5. He sliced his foot open at the dog park
  6. He got a double ear infection

So here is a pic of the Guf after he fell out of the truck and had to be at the emergency vet for a couple of hours :( . What you don't see is the road rash that completely covered his poor little belly. AHHH.. just a warning to everyone, please do not let your dog hang out the window!

Rufus playing with his favorite toy.. His bright colored ball! And yes, Justin and I do go to the park and play keep away from him (soccer style) with this ball and absolutely have a blast!

This is of course what I just told everyone NOT to let their dog do! Pre - injury picture of course!

And finally, a pic of the absolutely best dog ever! Even though he thinks he is a lap dog but weighs 70 lbs, even though he takes up the WHOLE bed at night when we go to sleep, even though he whines constantly to get your attention so he can go to Starbucks to get his doggy cappuccino, we love this little mutt and would not know what to do without him!

Hope everyone enjoyed! Happy Friday!

Is Momo really 11?

Friday was my favorite little girls Birthday! Well ok, so she really isn't a "little" girl anymore! Miss Morgandy turned 11 and her mom organized a super fun scrapbook sleepover for her and 8 of her friends! Oh how the sleepover brought back so many memories! When she was five her mom thought it was a brilliant idea to invite 29 little 4 and 5 year olds to a sleep over! And get this.. she was planning on handling all this by herself! Needless to say when I heard about this crazy arrangement, I stepped in and so nicely offered to be there for the sleepover! (Seriously, what was I thinking!) Anyway, we managed to survive the sleepover way back then.. so for this one.... I did the nicest thing a friend could do.. I stayed until the singing and dancing got so loud my ears were ringing then I so politely excused myself to my humble abode stating I was exhausted from helping with my moms garage sale all day :) I figured we should let Roger get the full effect of an 11 year olds sleepover :)

But even though I did not get to experience the whole "sleepover" this time, I still got alot of precious memories of Momo's 11th Birthday. Just look at the pics below!

All the girls scrapbooking!

Morgandy's AWESOME cake that her mom had made! And yes, I did make the cake because momo and I were two of the cutest bridesmaids ever!

Momo blowing out her candles!

All the girls!
And after you watch the video below. can you even imagine what her mom has in store for when Momo turns 13! Mandy - I wish you the best of luck... I will be ready with my scarf and convertible any time you need me!

Happy Birthday Miss Morgandy! You are certainly growing up to be a beautiful young lady and I love you bunches!

Love - Your Tata!

Kellys Korner - Favorite Thanksgiving Dish and Tradition

Today at Kellys Korner it is "Show us your favorite Thanksgiving Dish and Tradition!" Therefore, I thought I would post a recipe for one my all time favorite side dishes for Thanksgiving and Christmas..

Sweet Potato Souffle

4 medium sweet potatoes, cooked peeled
1/3 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup flour
1/3 stick butter

1. Combine the potatoes, 1/3 stick butter, sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a mixing bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Spoon into a buttered souffle dish.

2. Combine the brown sugar, nuts, flour, and 1/3 stick butter in a medium bowl and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the sweet potatoes.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Serves 6

Since Justin has had to work the last two Thanksgivings, I have taken this dish to the fire station each time and it's a HUGE hit! It is almost like a dessert it is soooo sweet! So for anyone that loves sweet potatoes.. this is definitely a must to make!

Precious Little Ones!

I have been meaning for a long time to post some pictures of little ones in my shirts! So finally I sat down today and uploaded most of them! Hope everyone enjoys!

Ms. Carigan at her 2nd birthday party, which had a cupcake theme! How precious is she!

Go Pokes! I think we might have a little cowboy cheerleader in the making!

Ahh... now I couldn't resist posting pics of these two! Here is Merritt in her ghost costume that I made her this year! Her mom said that she LOVED her tutu so much that apparently she had it in her mouth most of the day :)

BOOO!!!

Such chubby cheeks.. I love them!

And finally, this little one is just as cute as can be in her zebra OSU onesie! Thank you to her mom for taking the great pics!

So I know that all the kiddos looked adorable in their shirts.. but this pics will really make you smile!
Is that not the best bow ever! I got this for Mandy for her baby shower and wouldn't you know it.. her husband for some reason does not like it all! I think he said something about it being to puffy, a little over the top, etc. I just can't understand what he is talking about :) So just to make Roger happy, I have decided to start making these! And yes, I will be providing Merritt with a couple new ones soon! I am sure that her daddy will just love them!

Now on another note.. I finished a couple of orders last week and just thought I would share the pics!

Hope everyone has a great day! It is one day closer to the weekend... which is always a good thing!
