Show us your Life... Wedding Party and Flowers

This week at Kellys Korner it is Show us your Life - Wedding party and flowers! Well, I thought I would go ahead and take a stab at participating even though I may not be married, or even planning a wedding! Hey a single (well taken but unmarried) girl can certainly dream about her big day! I mean you have to be prepared right?!? Hope you all enjoy!

Dream Wedding Location: Napa Valley/Sonoma Valley
Justin and I's first vacation together was in Sonoma Valley/Napa Valley.... Can you say GORGEOUS! So ever since we took this romantic little vacation.. I have always wanted to go back there and get married! We could get married here....

or here..

or here...

or here....

or here....

Dress: Something elegant and romantic
I have always dreamed of a simple elegant wedding dress that has a little bit of an antique touch. Maybe it will look like this...

or this...

Flowers: Depends on the time of year that we would get married, but for a fall wedding these would be beautiful!

Hopefully this gives everyone an idea of what I would love my dream wedding to look like! Now lets just keep our fingers crossed that he pops the question soon! (OH and just in case he does... I have already contacted a wedding planner in Napa .... Hey a girl can never be to prepared! )

The Two B's!

Last night Justin and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with his cousin Kimberlea (a.k.a future sister in law) and her husband Brian and of course the kiddos... Bryce and Brinleigh!

Never underestimate these two... they are constantly keeping everyone on thier toes with the new things they say or do!

Bryce, well lets just say he is going to be a heartbreaker when he is older. Already as handsome as can be and has a personality to die for! Watch out ladies.... your little girls are in trouble!

Love you little munchkins!

He's a Big Boy .. He's 5!

A couple of weekends ago was Bryce's 5th Birthday Party (wow I can not believe he is that big. tear) and it sure was a great time for all the came. Everything was perfect and I think the birthday boy thoroughly enjoyed the inflatable water slide that his parents rented for the occasion. Props go out to his mom for outdoing herself once again with all the decor, food and fun. Kimberlea, you rock!

Such a precious little boy!

Tearing into his presents while sitting in little sisters pink chair!

The amazing Surf Board cake.. not only did it look great it was yummy too!

Presents and more presents and more presents :)

The Waterslide! This is a kids dream!
Congrats Bryce for turning 5! You are so special to Justin and I and I can't wait to see all the rest of the Birthday parties to come! We love you!

Blog Hop: Favorite Recipe

This week's Blog Hop topic is for our favorite recipe! We've been cooking a LOT in our new house (it's way too expensive to go out to eat as often as we would sometimes like, and believe it or not, I do like to cook!) This is something we just made and we make it as often as we can because it's pretty easy and Justin loves it. The recipe title is "Oven Fried Chicken" Weight Watchers Style ( I actually already posted this recipe before since I love it that much!)

Oven Fried Chicken (Weight Watchers Style)

1 egg beaten with 2 tablespoons water
3 or 4 chicken breasts
1 1/2 ounces of corn flakes crushed (I usually use more than 1 1/2 ounces)
8 teaspoons of butter melted
6 tablespoons of flour
1 oz of Parmesan Cheese
1 teaspoon of salt
dash of pepper

1. Mix flour, salt and pepper in one bowl then set aside

2. Mix corn flakes and Parmesan cheese in one bowl and set aside.

3. Dip each chicken breast in the flour mixture, then dip/cover in egg and then coat with the corn flake mixture. Drizzle melted butter over the chicken.

4. Place the chicken in a coated pan and then bake at 375 for 1 hour.

Delicious and very healthy as well!

Do you ever wonder?

Sometimes do you ever wonder what people are thinking? Or why they behave in such a way? I really would love to understand why some people can not be nice, can not smile, can not offer forgiveness, can not love, can not be happy with life and can not put differences aside to enjoy the things that matter most in this world. Do people not realize how precious every day we have is? I only pray that as a mother and wife, I teach my family to be content in what you have and to always put aside differences to enjoy those closest to you, because after all, family/friends are the best gifts in life.

Miss Harlan

It has been forever (well more like a month, but it seems like forever) since I have been able to see two of my best girlfriends, Lauren and Nikki, who live in Tulsa. I know, Tulsa is only about an hour and a half away, so you would think we would be able to see each other all the time.. but unfortunately, with our busy schedules it doesn't work out that way :(. So needless to say I am having seriously withdrawls! Withdrawls from not seeing my two best girlfriends... well yes of course, but mainly from not seeing my precious little niece Harlan! So in hopes that I can fill the void until I get to see her (Hopefully this next weekend ) I decided to showcase her on my blog! So this is a day in the life of Ms. Harlan.....

Harlan preparing to watch her first OSU game! Lauren is certainly raising her baby girl right!

First snow day.. I think she is excited.

Relaxation in the sun! She is definitely taking after her mom and Aunt Nikki... lets just hope she doesn't decide to move to Florida anytime soon!

Priceless! The smile makes your heart melt!

Wayne and Ms. Harlan...

Her first Care Bear! I can't believe they still have these around :)

Mommy and Harlan on the 4th of July. Do you see that view... she's not spoiled or anything!

Absolutely Precious! Daddy and Harlan after a long day a the pool.

Harlans first baseball game. UH OH mom and dad, you better watch out, I think she has a thing for those baseball players.

Absolutely love her!

She's getting so big!

Harlan enjoying her first boat ride with her new life jacket!

I dont think she has choice for college! It is Cowboys all the way!

Wow is all I can say! Ms. Harlan is growing up soooo fast. I just wish I was able to see her so much more :( She is truly a blessing to be around and I can't wait till she is old enough so I can tell her all the funny stories that her mom, Aunt Nikki and I have had throughout the years! (Don't worry Lauren, I will only tell her the good ones).
Love you bunches Miss Harlan... XOXOXOX

Just a Few of My Favorite Things

While picking up/cleaning the house yesterday after work, I realized how much I love the smell of two things... Glade Fabric/Air Freshner Clean Linen Scent

and my Woodwick Candle in Rum Raisin

Both of these items are a must in my house and are definitely used on a daily basis! For those of you who have not tried either of these.. you are sure missing out! It was pure brillance to make a candle smelling that good while it sounds like a fireplace burning at the same time! And to make a fabric/air freshner that smells like you just completed 20 loads of laundry.. makes your signficant other actually believe that you have been busy working all day long....or until he sees the bottle :)

Sprinkler Time for Rufus the Gufus

So since Justin and I don't have any little kiddos to chase around all the time and take pics of... what do we do... we take pics/videos of Rufus!

Here he is below enjoying his favorite past time... Playing in the sprinkler! Who would have imagined that he could have this much fun. Good news is, I guess we don't have to give him a bath any time soon, especially if he keeps this up every time we water the yard!

Blog Hop and Favorite Photo

This has to be one of my favorite photos ever! It's Justin and his little cousin Bryce at Family night during the Fire Academy. Justin and I bought Bryce the bunker gear for Christmas and he never takes it off... literally he sleeps in it! Can you say there is a fireman in the making!!

Family Time at the Lake

So in honor of the fourth of July we packed up the bags and headed to Lake Eufuala for a fun relaxing weekend with the family! We enjoyed lots of time on the water, great food, game nights and of course lots of fireworks..well at least until the rain came in.

Here are just some of the pics that captured the weekend!

Erin, Landry, Emma and Anna all ready for some time on the lake!

Can you sit like this? Since all the kiddos could, my cousin Stacy had to ensure she was not outdone by them!

Landry about to show everyone her skiing abilities!

Fireworks... what more could kids ask for!

This weekend we also got to spend alot of time with my cousin Marc's little one, Brody! He is a year and a half and came in all the way from San Diego to spend the 4th with everyone. As you can tell by the pic below this weekend he mastered the art of smiling for the camera on demand!

Overall the weekend was great and very relaxing....and we are all already counting down the days until our next family get together! So even though is was sad for us to leave the lake I knew I had one thing to look forward to at home.. Rufus! After being at the vets all weekend, he was certainly excited to see all of us when we picked him up... well at least for a little bit... I guess the vet might be more exhausting than I realized. He was out after only a couple of minutes at home!

And to everyone that knows about how bad my allergies are, we have tried over and over again to keep him off the couch so I dont have one of my crazy allergy attacks but it doesn't look like we are making any progress. Seriously though, how can you tell something as cute as this to get off the couch!
Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th! I know that we certainly did!

4th of July

Justin and my little cousin Brody!

Helping all the kids light sparklers!

The 4th is one of my favorite holidays mainly because we pack up and head to Lake Eufuala to spend time with all of my dad's side of the family! It's the only time of the year that we all get together and its so much fun seeing all the little ones running around, playing in the lake, and sitting around and catching up with everyone! The pics above are some from last years 4th of July Activities at Eufaula...

Bad news is Justin will not be able to make the trip this year since he will be on shift at the Fire Station on the 3rd and the 5th. (I am still trying to convice him to come down for just the day on Saturday but I know that is alot to ask between his shifts). Since Justin won't be coming, that means that Tad and I will get to have a little bit of brother/sister bonding on the way tomorrow night (2 hours worth)... I am sure that he is very excited for me to talk his ear off the whole way, but hey what are sisters for!

Pics for this year to follow shortly!
