Kellys Korner - Show us your Single MEN!

So I am participating in Kelly's Korner "Show us your Single MEN" today!
Why you may ask?

Because I have a 24 year old single brother that I think is just pretty darn awesome!

So let me introduce to you...

Tad Carson

Tad is 24 lives in Oklahoma City and would absolutely kill me if he knew I was doing this!

So here is a little bit of info about him and why I think he is an amazing catch:

1. Loves family more than anything. Does not hesitate a second to drop everything if someone needs his help or we have a family get together.
And I have to say when you get to know our family you will definitely know why we all love to hang out!
Here is a pic of Tad and some of the fam at my cousins wedding a couple of years ago. He is the one on the right in the front with the glasses.

2. Loves life and has one the best happy go lucky attitudes I have ever seen. I mean what 24 year old would go to his families Christmas party and participate in a picture like this! He is the one in the front in the white shirt.
( I will have to explain the picture in another post so everyone doesn't think my family is a little crazy )

3. Is completely self sufficient. If he needs it done, he can do it himself. He learned that from our dad who has installed a hard work mentally in all of us. But don't get me wrong, he works hard and plays hard! Here is a pic of Tad and I skiing a couple of years ago on one of our annual family ski trips!

NOTE: Tad is a great snow skier and loves the outdoors! I think the love for the mountains might be a requirement for any girls interested! (Haha, JK)

4. He has two dogs - Sadie Lee (beagle) and Jade (girl boxer).

5. He doesn't go out looking for a wife, he just figures God will bring the perfect one to him in time. I don't think I have ever seen him not trust in God when it comes to his future partner. He knows it's all in God's timing! (ok, well and maybe with a little help from his big sis)

6. He drives a big ole pickup truck, just like most Oklahoma Boys do :)

7. He is respectful, loving, kind, humble and generous just to name a few characteristics about him. (Which I think are the most important things when looking for a good catch)

8. He ADORES children and keeps asking me to hurry up and have some so he can be an uncle. I don't think I have ever seen him shy away from holding a new born or turn down an invite to babysit. He truly has a gift when it comes to kiddos and I can not wait to see the father that he will become one day!

9. He still goes to our mom and dads house for dinner at least a couple of times a week! Hey, he is single and of course mom wants to make sure that he is eating well...even though he is a great cook!

and finally ...

10. He has shown me persistence can pay off, hard work is how you achieve your goals,
material things are not important,
smiling and positive attitude is the key to your day,
the importance of family,
how to conquer a black run when skiing on the slopes,
and most importantly that he has grown into an AMAZING young man who I am definitely proud to call my BROTHER!

Sorry, I don't have more pics of him to post but I am on the road with work this week and not able to access my pics from computer at home. So all of the ones that I have posted are the few that I have on my work computer.
And in that being said, here is one of my favorite pics of all of our family. My grandma lost her battle to breast cancer a couple of years ago and in honor of her we did the Susan B Komen Race (and try to do it every year... our team is Betty's B's!)

Here is a pic of the family (Tad is on the right in the front).

So there you have it folks! Tad is a great catch and comes from a loving and wonderful family and extended family :)

If you are in okc or somewhere close shoot me an email and I will try to play matchmaker!

Hope everyone has a great Friday and Happy Single Searching!

The Joy's of Traveling for Work

Yes, I have not been good about posting lately but that is because I have been on the road (or should I say Jetway) continuously for the last couple of weeks. Work has me traveling all over lately and so I wanted to share with everyone some of the fun things/places that I have been! Two weeks ago I went to Washington DC to meet with our ACS CAN group.

(ACS CAN =American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network)

Mainly this group is made up of lobbyists and volunteers fighting to make a difference in each state, whether it be promoting Smoke Free initiatives or just trying to get the word out about different legislature that has effect on cancer patients, these individuals are working hard continuously!

Click on the link below to see more about this wonderful group!

ACS CAN

Of course while I was there we had to work a lot so there was not much site seeing.
(thankfully I have been there before, so I wasn't to sad I didn't get to go explore)

However, the office is located in downtown DC so we got to eat at some great restaurants while we were there :)

=======================================================================

This last weekend I flew to Philadelphia for the weekend to an ACS Bike A Thon! If you have never heard of this event that the American Cancer Society puts on, you have to go to the link below and check it out!

Bike A Thon

As of today, the event has raised over 1.2 million dollars and donations are still being excepted till August 31, 2010!

My job for this event is simply show up and audit it... yep that is right!
I just show up and walk around, ask some questions, and mainly enjoy the event!

The 66 mile leg of the event started at the Ben Franklin Bridge in downtown Philly and then ended in New Jersey. We got there bright and early (6 am) to see all the cyclists at the starting point and it was just a wonderful feeling to know that over 4,000 riders were there to raise money for ACS!
If you have never been to an ACS event, I will have to say the energy of the participants is one that truly touches your heart! I don't think there has been an event yet, that I have attended in which I do not shed a tear or two!

The thing that really caught my attention at this event was the amount of children that were participating. For a child as young as 6 or 7 years old to ride even the shortest distance which was 21.3 miles is admirable. More so, I think it really shows alot about parents when you see both them and their children participating in an event like this. I think it teaches the child to give back and to enjoy participating in events that are impacting others!

So to all the parents, friends, grandparents, etc. that had children riding with you this past weekend in the event.. I applaud you! Thank you for being a positive role model in a young ones life!

P.S. On a different note, I think this trip might have had the worst turbulence on a plane that I have ever experienced. Coming into OKC at 10 pm at night during a thunderstorm and lightening storm = not a good idea for someone that has anxiety over flying!
The stewardess literally came over the intercom and told us to put everything up, grasp/hold on to the seat and put our heads down that there was bad turbulence coming our way! Needless to say, I had a death grip on the chair and closed my eyes so tight tears could not escape! It ended up being pretty rough and I have never been so happy when we landed SAFELY on the ground! Oh and did I mention I think I was praying the entire time out loud! :)

======================================================================

For this week, I am in Ohio visiting our Division office!
Of course, my job LOVES booking us on early flights out (like 6 am or before) so I had to get up at 3 am yesterday morning in order to make the flight! But guess what... of course weather delays were all over so my 6 am flight ended up taking off at 7:45 and we had to sit on the plane for the entire hour or so before we got the all clear to take off! That of course made us miss our connecting flight and so I ended up taking three other flights to get to Ohio! Needless to say, I didn't get into Ohio until 5 pm yesterday instead of my scheduled 11 am arrival! Oh well, to me this is just the joys of traveling! It's uncontrollable and you just have to smile and enjoy the extra people watching time at the airport!

So that is about it for my travels as of right now for work!
Thankfully I think this might be my last trip for a couple of months!
AHHHH is all I can say to that!
Now I can hopefully get some pool time in and some much needed girls trips!

Hope everyone has a Great Wednesday!

Smiles

So it's been a stressful last couple of weeks with lots of stuff going on and new changes coming about, but one thing no matter will always stay the same...

Pics of these little ones brighten my day and make me SMILE!

It is so amazing how a child can steal your heart and make all your troubles go away in a second :)

So maybe I should say THANK YOU to my great friends who constantly send me pics of their little ones to enjoy until I can have my own one day :)

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Fourth of July Diva - Cayman

Cayman getting ready to head to the lake in her USA tank!

She definitely was a 4th of July Diva!
Thanks for sharing Krissa!

Merritt Grace - The Future Golfer

Yesterday, Merritt got to play her very first round of GOLF!

As you can see from the pics below she was a DIVA on the golf course in her adorable cross/heart tank I made her for her birthday!
(I may be a little biased but I really like this tank)

Here she is helping her daddy with his putting skills.
He might have been the only one that actually got a putt in.. Mandy said Merritt had more fun picking up all the golf balls on the green when it was every one's turn to putt!

She may look innocent but I think she is secretly planning her next ball stealing move!

Uh Oh, I think she got caught in the ball stealing action! Does this face not say it all!!

She had to go back for one more try.. I think she might be successful this time!

So there you have it folks.. Merritt's first golf outing!
I think I should go ahead and start designing her some DIVA golf clothes for her to wear when she makes it to pros!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
