Kellys Korner - Show us your Pet

So this week at Kelly's Korner it is "Show us your Pet" ! I am super excited about this week because I adore our little Rufus! OK - so he may not be little anymore due to all the food we are feeding him :) Anyway, Rufus officially runs our house and is probably the most spoiled dog ever! I mean what other dog whines at night until he is allowed to get on the bed and is then covered up with his blanket! Yes, we have created a monster but at least he is an adorable one! Hope you enjoy a few pics of Mutt!

Rufus when we picked him out at the breeders!

I surprised Justin and went to Bartlesville and got Rufus without him knowing for his birthday surprise! How precious is he with his little red bow waiting for Justin!

After Justin got off work at the Fire station.. he found his new little puppy waiting for him! I think he was smitten by him from the beginning!

This is usually how I would find the two of them when Justin would get home from training!

Rufus doing what he does best.. getting into things! Yep, he got caught!

If anyone knows us really well, they know that for awhile Rufus was CONSTANTLY at the vets for some sort of emergency! Lets see...
  1. He fell out of the truck window going 40 mph (This was a lesson learned and now all windows are rolled up!)
  2. He sliced his knee open on a piece of metal a mama me's (This is what we call my mom)
  3. He got the mange
  4. He has dog acne
  5. He sliced his foot open at the dog park
  6. He got a double ear infection

So here is a pic of the Guf after he fell out of the truck and had to be at the emergency vet for a couple of hours :( . What you don't see is the road rash that completely covered his poor little belly. AHHH.. just a warning to everyone, please do not let your dog hang out the window!

Rufus playing with his favorite toy.. His bright colored ball! And yes, Justin and I do go to the park and play keep away from him (soccer style) with this ball and absolutely have a blast!

This is of course what I just told everyone NOT to let their dog do! Pre - injury picture of course!

And finally, a pic of the absolutely best dog ever! Even though he thinks he is a lap dog but weighs 70 lbs, even though he takes up the WHOLE bed at night when we go to sleep, even though he whines constantly to get your attention so he can go to Starbucks to get his doggy cappuccino, we love this little mutt and would not know what to do without him!

Hope everyone enjoyed! Happy Friday!

Is Momo really 11?

Friday was my favorite little girls Birthday! Well ok, so she really isn't a "little" girl anymore! Miss Morgandy turned 11 and her mom organized a super fun scrapbook sleepover for her and 8 of her friends! Oh how the sleepover brought back so many memories! When she was five her mom thought it was a brilliant idea to invite 29 little 4 and 5 year olds to a sleep over! And get this.. she was planning on handling all this by herself! Needless to say when I heard about this crazy arrangement, I stepped in and so nicely offered to be there for the sleepover! (Seriously, what was I thinking!) Anyway, we managed to survive the sleepover way back then.. so for this one.... I did the nicest thing a friend could do.. I stayed until the singing and dancing got so loud my ears were ringing then I so politely excused myself to my humble abode stating I was exhausted from helping with my moms garage sale all day :) I figured we should let Roger get the full effect of an 11 year olds sleepover :)

But even though I did not get to experience the whole "sleepover" this time, I still got alot of precious memories of Momo's 11th Birthday. Just look at the pics below!

All the girls scrapbooking!

Morgandy's AWESOME cake that her mom had made! And yes, I did make the cake because momo and I were two of the cutest bridesmaids ever!

Momo blowing out her candles!

All the girls!
And after you watch the video below. can you even imagine what her mom has in store for when Momo turns 13! Mandy - I wish you the best of luck... I will be ready with my scarf and convertible any time you need me!

Happy Birthday Miss Morgandy! You are certainly growing up to be a beautiful young lady and I love you bunches!

Kellys Korner - Favorite Thanksgiving Dish and Tradition

Today at Kellys Korner it is "Show us your favorite Thanksgiving Dish and Tradition!" Therefore, I thought I would post a recipe for one my all time favorite side dishes for Thanksgiving and Christmas..

Sweet Potato Souffle

4 medium sweet potatoes, cooked peeled
1/3 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup flour
1/3 stick butter

1. Combine the potatoes, 1/3 stick butter, sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a mixing bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Spoon into a buttered souffle dish.

2. Combine the brown sugar, nuts, flour, and 1/3 stick butter in a medium bowl and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the sweet potatoes.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Serves 6

Since Justin has had to work the last two Thanksgivings, I have taken this dish to the fire station each time and it's a HUGE hit! It is almost like a dessert it is soooo sweet! So for anyone that loves sweet potatoes.. this is definitely a must to make!

Precious Little Ones!

I have been meaning for a long time to post some pictures of little ones in my shirts! So finally I sat down today and uploaded most of them! Hope everyone enjoys!

Ms. Carigan at her 2nd birthday party, which had a cupcake theme! How precious is she!

Go Pokes! I think we might have a little cowboy cheerleader in the making!

Ahh... now I couldn't resist posting pics of these two! Here is Merritt in her ghost costume that I made her this year! Her mom said that she LOVED her tutu so much that apparently she had it in her mouth most of the day :)

BOOO!!!

Such chubby cheeks.. I love them!

And finally, this little one is just as cute as can be in her zebra OSU onesie! Thank you to her mom for taking the great pics!

So I know that all the kiddos looked adorable in their shirts.. but this pics will really make you smile!
Is that not the best bow ever! I got this for Mandy for her baby shower and wouldn't you know it.. her husband for some reason does not like it all! I think he said something about it being to puffy, a little over the top, etc. I just can't understand what he is talking about :) So just to make Roger happy, I have decided to start making these! And yes, I will be providing Merritt with a couple new ones soon! I am sure that her daddy will just love them!

Now on another note.. I finished a couple of orders last week and just thought I would share the pics!

Hope everyone has a great day! It is one day closer to the weekend... which is always a good thing!

The Pioneer Woman in OKC!

A month or so ago, I heard that the Pioneer Woman was coming to OKC on her book signing tour for her new cookbook! I couldn't have been more thrilled and have been anticipating her arrival into the big city ever since! So yesterday was the day that she was here at the Full Circle Bookstoore in 50 Penn Place and sadly none of my girlfriends could go... so I planned on attending the great book signing alone! However, when I got home.. my wonderful fireman offered to go with me.... after all how long could a book signing take right? So we jump into the car and I am grinning from ear to ear because I am sooo excited to see the one and only Ree Drummond... I get my camera out to make sure that there is plenty of space left for new pics.. and what do I learn but that my camera is dead! What... are you kidding me! Of all times to go dead, so what does the wonderful fireman do..stops without even saying a word at 711 and walks in buys a disposable! Yep, we are high class these days.. I was off to the Pioneer Womans book signing with a disposable camera! I doubt the pictures will come out anywhere near the quality of hers :)

Meanwhile Justin is still trying to figure out why I want to go to a book signing of a woman who blogs ... He is totally clueless to this whole other world out there still :) So at 6:30 on the dot, we pull into the bookstore parking lot and it's PACKED! Justin trys to tell me that there is no way there will be alot of people at the signing that all the cars have to be here for something else... well boy was he wrong! As we walked into the bookstore, all you could see were hundreds of people lined up! I guess since I have never attended a book signing before, I didn't know that you needed to show up at noon in order to get at least a decent place in line! Needless to say Justin was amazed and how many people showed up.. and me being so nice.. told Justin that we did not have to stand in line. I just couldnt make him stand there for probably multiple hours.. so I sadly left the bookstore without even a glimpse of Ree. :(

HOWEVER... as we are walking out to our car in the parking garage who should pull up and park next to us but the one and the onlyMARLBORO MAN! And yes ladies, he is just as handsome, no I take that back, he is way more handsome in person! I am sad to report though I didnt even think of getting my new disposable camera out to get pic of him :( I was to much in a hurry to call my mom and tell her who just parked next to us.. and do you want to know her first words, "OMG, Really, He's is sooo Good Looking! Did you get a pic". AHHH.. if only I would have thought to pull out the camera!

Anyway, Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a Happy Halloween weekend!

Just tired..

Yes, that is right ... today well I am just tired. It's been a long couple of weeks and I think I am finally starting to feel the impact of the long days, stress, etc. So tonight instead of sewing, cutting out material, doing dishes, working out, analyzing financial statements or organizing my craft room (again) I have decided to take a break and just relax! I can honestly say that I can not remember the last time I sat on the couch with a glass of hot apple cider and watched a movie by myself! It is truly amazing how busy we all get and forget to take time out for ourselves and completely forget what needs to be done for this evening,or tomorrow, or next week...

So tonight while Justin is at the fire station, I am enjoying the peace and quiet of the house, my hot apple cider, and the comfort of my couch, a warm blanket and a girlie movie! What more could a girl ask for! This is pure relaxation... and it's long long overdue!

Guess What! My Logo is Finished!

So it has been a work in progress trying to get everything together to officially start my small little business but things are finally starting to come about! And so I am really excited to show everyone the new logo for Tater Tots and Fire Hoses!

Isn't it awesome! And if you are wondering if I came up with this... well lets be realistic! I may be able to make some onesies but graphic design is certainly not my calling :)

My logo was actually created by Autumn from www.autumnleahdesigns.com! And she is also designing my business cards, stickers, etc. She has been amazing to work with and sooo fast! Soooo if anybody is ever in need a logo, etsy banner, personal stickers, etc. she is your gal!

Thanks so much Autumn, I really do appreciate it!

Hope everyone has a great day!

It's Friday..WoooHoooo!

Hi all! Well thankfully today is Friday! I think I start looking forward to this day starting on Sunday evening :)

Well as everyone can hopefully see my blog has gotten an AMAZING makeover from my friend Nicole at Sizzlin Savages! She did such a great job and I could not be any happier with the results! Who knew a little makeover could make my blogging so much more enjoyable to me and hopefully everyone else :) So after all her hard work.. I would love to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Nicole! I really do appreciate it!

And just to add a little side note.. Nicole is not only talented at conducting blog makeovers.. but she also has some amazing recipes on her blog and sells Scentsy candles.! So if anyone is looking for some good reading, some good recipes, or some great new smells for the Holiday Season take a look at her blog above and/or her scentsy website www.scentsy.com/savysavage.

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend... mine will be filled with sewing, more sewing and possibly some drag racing! Yep, the wonderful man of mine has bought us tickets for the races at Thunder Valley in Noble, OK! I really can't say that I have ever been to the drag races... but I will sure be posting all about it on Monday! I guess I better get use to these kind of events... after all our land is only about 3 miles away where you can hear all the engines roaring up! So I guess not only will I soon becoming a country girl... I will also be learning to enjoy the races! OH MY.. how life is changing! Do you think I can wear earplugs? :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend and if you can please take a moment and say a quick prayer for my family and that God's grace will watch over us. But really don't just say a prayer for my family but say a prayer for everyone you know.. because you never know when a friend is truly in need of a prayer! And what a better way to start a weekend than by praying for someone else!
